Volunteer at Cromer
The Flagstaff Unified School District and Cromer Elementary welcomes volunteers and partners who want to support students, schools, and district programs.
FUSD Volunteers include vendors/organizations supporting classrooms or events, family members of current FUSD students, community members helping with school activities, coaches, student teachers, and more.
As of February 1st, 2026, the Flagstaff Unified School District has updated it’s policies and procedures for those who wish to volunteer in our schools. Please read below to find out how you can get involved!
How To Volunteer
Axe of Service
Complete your registration through Axe of Service. Once registered, search for “Cromer Elementary School” under Agencies and “Become a Fan” to receive updates about upcoming volunteer opportunities. Or, respond to a current volunteer need, such as Classroom Support or Field Trip Chaperone.

FUSD Volunteer Form
Complete the FUSD Volunteer Form online. Indicate the schools you’d like to volunteer with, provide your contact information, select your volunteer level, and agree to the volunteer terms & conditions. Before submitting your form, please review the FUSD Volunteer Handbook for important guidelines and expectations.

Complete your BIB Screening and/or IVP Card
FUSD has created Volunteer Levels to streamline the volunteer process. Depending on the Volunteer Level you are signing up for, you may have to complete a BIB background check or submit an IVP Clearance Card. Please review the new volunteer levels to determine which screenings you must complete.

After completing the steps above and receiving approval to volunteer from FUSD HR, you can begin signing up for opportunities through Axe of Service. Schools or departments may also contact you directly with volunteer needs and upcoming opportunities. When you arrive to volunteer at the school site, you will be asked to sign in on Axe of Service and wear a Volunteer Badge.
